Probably, anybody who has read Castaneda's account of the "shift below" just sort of went, "thanks for the warning!" But, what is most interesting about his explanations is what they left out. Sure, he divulges that one's sexual exuberance is increased within that state, but, for sorcerers, that seems like a small reason to involve one's self with it. I mean, where's the "power" in that? The answer is, there is vast power in the shift below, but it is not about sex, it's about something even more primal, the basic road of existence, time itself. Why somebody would make the shift below their primary path of sorcery is because it offers a view into the "cosmic clock", or "wheel of time" as Castaneda called it. Those sorcerers who used the "sub-chakra" below the base chakra as their foundation, were given the gift of prophecy. It's like the Nostradamus school of sorcery or something. This is what Castaneda left out. If you want to see the gears of the clock that spins the fate of man, then you have to look "under" the physical plane. Like any other shift of the assemblage point, this one can happen randomly, with the prodding of power plants or encounters with powerful sorcerers. I think it also has to do with one's natural leanings in one direction or another. In general, this type of sorcerer is more concerned with the physical world than the inorganic realms, and finds the rush of life this position of the AP bestows to be an adequate expression of freedom and happiness. You can encounter other non-human beings through this shift, but they would be limited to the beings within the realm of what I call Keepers. Those beings are not really like inorganic beings at all, they are found in the exact opposite direction. An interesting note is that the Keepers and the sorcerers who practice the shift below, are all linked to the same spot in the sky, the galaxy of Andromeda.
